If Video Games Were Real

We've all wondered what life would be like if video games were real. Would we all walk around with much too large swords and anime hair? Would we be constantly being kidnapped by genetically altered turtles? Would getting to work every day take all the lives that we have and when it was game over, would we just give up and go back to bed?

Caldwell Tanner of College Humor and Hipster Superhero fame has another was of looking at it.

We could keep the polar ice caps from melting

Save the economy

Help with natural disasters

Fix oil spills

Finally cure cancer and other life threatening diseases

Recycle is a positive manner

Of course, we don't need to be video game characters to help with these real world problems. But you already knew that ;)

Thanks to Dorkly for trying to save the World one video game at a time

Batman Villains

Back in July, I mentioned that I had been invited to Fan Expo by some friends and that we were going to dress up as Batman Villains.

Well, Fan Expo has come and past and I've finally gotten my hands on some of the photos.
So without further ado, I give you Batman's Rouge Gallery.

Bane, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Joker, Hush, Two-Face, Scarecrow and the Penguin.
We also had an amazing Riddler (who you can see down below) and a fantastic Poison Ivy with us, but she's the one taking the amazing photos. (which you can see more of here)

So much work went into all these amazing costumes. People gave up things like comfort, vision, breathing, hair and blood to do justice to these characters.

It was an uncomfortable, exhausting day, but also super fun. Many people stopped to take our pictures and many a child was horrified due to people staying very true to character. (I'm looking at you Scarecrow)

I was very glad to have been a part of this and I look forward to dressing up with these awesome people again in the future.

Thanks to Adam, Paul, Kat, Racquel, Dave, Christina, Jessica, Dave and Mike for including me in this awesome event. You guys rock my Batman socks off!

Star Wars Watches

It's only been the last couple of years that I've started to wear a watch. I was given one a few years ago as an anniversary present, which I then lost within the year. I got so use to wearing it, that when it was gone, it drove me absolutely crazy until I finally went out and got a new one.
It's pink and silver and quite awesome, but if I had known there would be Star Wars watches coming out, I may have waited a little longer. Clearly, these new watches Seiko, due out Oct. 12th, are made for men, but when has that ever stopped me before?
Just take a look at their awesomeness!

Some of the features that I really like out these watches, start with the little details. Things like the second hand of the jedi/sith watches looking like their lightsabers,

The emblazoned character pictures overlaying the details inside,

the fact that each watch has the characters name in Aurebesh.
Also, the R2-D2 watch uses EPD e-ink to bring up scenes from the movies! How cool is that?

Ok, so with prices that high, I think I made the right choice of buying my pink and silver watch, but hey, a girl can dream. Who knows, maybe one day they'll make awesome, affordable Star Wars watches for girls? Yeah, I know, I'll be dreaming of that for a long time yet.

Thanks to aBlogToRead for all the great info, considering everything else I saw was in Japanese and Adam for sending me the link in the first place.
